Leo Swan Launch

The aim of this project was to digitally archive Leo Swan’s 1960’s aerial photographs of Ireland and to provide access to the images online. My role was to create the design around the event, including promotional material, invitations. The highlight of which was a centrepiece which was hung in the main room of the victorian building in Merrion Square.

The concept was to bring the launch to life by having a piece that reflected the nature of the material. A silhouette of the Tiger Moth plane that had been flown across the landscape was used on the invite. Laising with the printer I was able to achieve the end result of attendees creating the plane in 3D. They were then asked to sign the plane with messages and bring to the launch, whereby they were used as part of a hanging installation in 12 different coloured planes which were hung from a bespoke mobile.
